Ever seen someone hit a heavy squat and crumble like a wet taco? Yeah, that’s usually because they breathe and brace like absolute trash. Let’s cut the BS: if you can’t create intra-abdominal pressure, you can’t lift heavy safely. Your spine needs that 360° canister of tension, not just a chest full of air like you’re about to blow out birthday candles.


Proper breathing isn’t just for yogis and hippies. It’s how you stop folding under a bar, it’s how you protect your back, and it’s how you actually get stronger. But nah, most people hold their breath at random and wonder why their deadlift looks like a dying prawn.

✅ Before the lift — deep breath into your belly, into your sides, into your lower back

✅ Lock it down — brace like someone’s about to punch you in the gut

✅ Hold through the sticking point — controlled release at the top
